Renovation of a 1927 Historic Spanish Revival Bungalow in Tucson, Arizona. Many of the design decisions were driven by the desire to update the home without losing its historic character and presence in the neighborhood, as well as sticking to our mantra of simple and functional. Opening up the layout to allow for natural light was also a priority since the house was small. We wanted it to be full of the desert light.

Be open to change, sustainability, timelessness and longevity. Design in a way that avoids trends and think long term is one of the best ways to be sustainable in our minds. Focus on natural materials that age gracefully, simple geometries, and a return to basics – keep it honest and simple. Make changes with thought and care, as owning an older home can preserve its past and also honor the present and the future.
